Minting Contracts with Nous
You're ready to begin this tutorial if:
You have enough MATIC to cover the transaction cost of your mint
Should you prefer, a video guide for minting smart contracts is available here.
1. Enter the dApp
a. From the website homepage click ‘Launch dApp’
b. On the top right-hand corner of the screen, you should see a button labelled ‘Enter app’. This will take you to the invest section of the dApp where you will be presented with a form to build your contract.
2. Connect wallet to dApp
a. Click the button ‘Connect’ at the top right of your screen and follow the prompts to connect with the account you wish to use.
b. If your wallet is connected you should see that the text of the connect button has changed from ‘Connect’ to an abbreviation of your wallet address. Check that the first AND last 4 characters and the address match yours (NB: you must be connected to the Polygon network for this step to work).

3. Build your contract
a. Return to the Invest section.
b. Currently we only offer our Smart Bond, which is a two-year contract fixed at 45% APY (annual percentage yield).
c. Choose your preferred currency from the dropdown menu and proceed to input the amount you want to invest. The minimum investment amount is $100.
d. Click Mint.
e. When you click the Mint button, a modal will pop up with a link to our terms and conditions. Take a moment to read through. Then click Agree.
f. A Metamask window will pop up asking you to give permission to access your funds. This will permit the contract to spend your specified funds on your behalf. This is not someone trying to steal your funds. This is normal and is required for a mint.
g. Before approving, you must make sure you have enough MATIC in your wallet to cover the transaction cost of your mint. You can check your balance in the Assets tab of your wallet. Also, it is recommended that you speed up your transaction to avoid failure. You can do this by pressing ‘Site suggested’ and choosing the fastest transaction speed (Aggressive) from the options given.
h. Confirm approve transaction.
i. Once your transaction has been accepted a similar process will repeat but for your mint transaction.
j. Again, make sure you have enough MATIC and that you are prioritising your transaction.
k. The transaction may still take a moment to be confirmed by the network. You can view the progress via the Activity tab in your Metamask wallet.
5. View your NFC
a. Once your transaction has been confirmed you will be able to see your NFC in the Contracts section.
b. It will be tagged as Live. Once your contract expires, it will be marked as claimable, with a button below to claim.
c. Once you have claimed, your NFC will have moved to the history section. A section where you can view all your previous contracts for future reference.
